Our next wine tasting event focuses on wines appropriate to cherry blossom season. In addition we showcase the wine of a new producer in our portfolio, Portugal's Marcio Lopes.
Since setting up his own shop in 2010, Marcio has made crisp, high quality white wines in the Vinho Verde region, and both white and red wines in the Douro region. But more recently, he has embarked on an ambitious program to find interesting and unusual vine systems in northern Portugal and Ribeira Sacra in Spain, and to apply his expertise to creating tiny cuvées that express these terroirs uniquely.
These wines have received high accolades from critics in Portugal, and now are being noticed by international wine writers. But they are made in very limited amounts, almost impossible to find outside of Portugal! Based on strong ecological principles and minimal intervention in the winery, you will be impressed by the purity and precision of his offerings.
We will serve 14-15 wines at this event, representing a good selection of Marcio's portfolio, and a broader group of sparkling, white, rosé, and red styles. Subject to availability, the wines will be available for purchase on the spot, or can be shipped anywhere in Japan.

3月17日の試飲会は、お花見の季節にオススメのワインをご紹介します。今回は新入荷のポルトガルワイン、Marcio Lopesのワインをご披露します。
彼自身の店を設立して以来、MarcioはVinho Verde地域ではさわやかで高品質の白ワインを、そしてDouro地域では白と赤の両方のワインを作りました。しかし最近になって、彼はポルトガル北部とスペインのリベイラ・サクラで興味深く珍しいヴァインシステムを見つけ、これらのテロワールを独特に表現する小さなキュヴェを作るために彼の専門知識を適用するという野心的なプログラムに着手しました。

Wine List We draw particular attention to the white wines from Portuguese specialist wine maker Márcio Lopes. These wines are a rare treat! - will change the way you think about Vinho Verde. Includes one selection (À Moda Antiga) that was sold out in Portugal, but where Márcio kindly kept a few bottles for us to enjoy.
